The Difference

Body and Brain Yoga & Tai Chi is similar to other forms of mind-body training, but it can be distinguished by three unique characteristics:

The Body-Brain Connection:

Body Brain Yoga & Tai Chi sees the brain not simply as an organ, but the center of the whole human body and energy system. Through a comprehensive system called BEST (Brain Education System Training), one can see more clearly how Yoga, Tai-Chi and Meditation effect and change the brain.

Step 1: Sensitizing

Awakens the five senses, improves physiological functioning and encourages brain and body awareness.

Step 2: Versatilizing

Creates flexibility in brain circuitry, freeing the brain from rigid habits and opens practitioners to new information.

Step 3: Refreshing

Clears emotional residue, encourages a positive life perspective and develops emotional intelligence.

Step 4: Integrating

Unites diverse areas of the brain, enhances communication between the hemispheres and releases latent abilities.

Step 5: Mastering

Empowers authorship of life purpose, enables greater executive control of the brain and expedites decision-making processes.

The Use of Energy:

Body and Brain Yoga & Tai Chi is rooted in the principles of Oriental Medicine, which targets the healing and balance of the major organs, acupuncture points and twelve meridians. Ki /Chi /Qi is the main source of energy flowing through our bodies and the universe. Practitioners will better understand the principles and the practice of managing the accumulation and distribution of this power.

Personal Development and Customized Care

At Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi, our Instructors take great pleasure in giving all students individualized care beyond the classes. Students can expect regular personal check-ups, designed to help beginners build a more solid foundation to move towards their goals, as well as offer experienced practitioners further steps to advance their practice. A check-up can include corrections and modifications for difficult postures, as well as giving and checking specific home exercises. A check-up last between 15- 20 minutes and is usually done before or after a regular class.
